A CREEPY SOLUTION TO IBS PAIN
It may be time to overcome your fear of spiders. A new study published in ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science has identified a molecule derived from Peruvian tarantula venom as a potential pain relief solution for sufferers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
In experiments with mice the researchers found that one dose could stop symptoms associated with IBS pain without interfering with other body functions, giving hope to its use as a potential treatment in humans. More studies are required first. “Thorough studies of its activity in the body and the immune system’s reaction to it will be critical” write the researchers.
